The Flying Nun

One of the celebs in our impressive doll cabinet is the Flying Nun.
Now, don't tell Sally Field, but off camera, the Flying Nun acted pretty much like most of the Nuns from that romantic baby boomers era.

See her in the classroom, measuring Little Nancy's mini skirt.

"Tsk tsk Nancy, you'll have to go home to get a longer dress!"

See her at daily communion, putting kleenex on heads of uncloaked girls.
"How humiliating Helen, maybe your Mother will get a phone call from the Mother Superior!"

See her smacking unruly children in her 2nd grade class!
"Maybe this will remind you there is no pleasure without pain."

And the day she caught little Wolfgang drinking communion from his Father's beer stein was more than she could stand!
"Perhaps a swift rap on the lederhosen will cure your cravings, That will be 25 hail Mary's and 42 our Father's."

Then one day, a handsome man showed up at Our Sister Of Rapscallion, the Flying Nun's school convent, and she quickly dismissed herself from the room.

It was Montgomery, the Canadian Mounty.

Rumors abounded, and a clever paparazzi photographer uncovered this scandalous photo of the F.N. having dinner at Chow Chow's Chinese Restaurant with muscular Montgomery!

The powers that be caught wind of the Flying Nun's indiscretions,
and she was called into the office immediately for evaluation.

The Flying Nun took a vow of silence and withdrew to her quarters to water the plants and
have a heart to heart chat with her Our Mother of Saints, living portrait. The portrait literally glowed through F.N.'s spilled exploits of Montgomery.

Perhaps there's a little rebel in ever saint, but for now, the Flying Nun is grounded, and cut back to household manual labor. Watch out kitty!

Little Dickie Daredevil

My oh my, Granny had some adventurous grandchildren. Today, you get to meet Little Dickie Daredevil. He is always showing up in the crazzziest places. This child fears nothing. As soon as I turn my back he is climbing onto the ceiling fan!

Then he sneaks into the freezer..

Clambering upon the candelabra...

Scaling cocktail stirrers....

Flying on an airplane, and catching a ride on a near-by Pterodactyl.

Oh no! Little Dickie got dizzy and fell off the dinosaur! Not to worry, he landed on a soft surface.

But then he was off on his terrible tear again!

We found him in  the dryer mounting the bvd's...

And then one cold winter day, Little Dickie climbed into the mask of a passing by Grizzly Man, and despite my warnings, he traveled out into the perilous, frigid winter, where I'm sure he perished from frost bite.

But, who knows, perhaps Little Dickie Daredevil is much cleverer than we think. We shall see if he returns in the spring.

Lazy Marty

Poor little Lazy Marty, one of the babies on Granny's metal couch. Here he's laying with his cousins. He's in the pink blanket.

He was born with his blanky, and he can't seem to get his act together. I assume Granny babied  him his whole life, and now, he just lays around....

at the pool

At the beach...

With the Symphony...

At Granny's house, in bed all day.....

In fact, Lazy Marty slept around on the world! He was soooooo lazy.

But one terrible day, Lazy Marty made a fatal mistake. He went on an African safari, and got so tired in the dry, hot African weather. He wandered off from his tour group and found a soft, black bed.

But little did he know, his bed would attack, and, well, we really aren't sure, but legend says Lazy Marty was gobbled up by this sly member of the great cat family. What do you think?

Willermus Knobel and Granny Goodknitter

Remember Granny Goodknitter and Willermus Knobel? They fell in love at age ???, and she began tending to their little love nest by knitting them some love mittens.

While Willermus was out tending to the goats,

dear little Granny got carried away with her knitting, as she was a fly-by-night, and knitted mittens so huge, they took over the entire household.

What could they do, but snuggle in, wrapping themselves in the giant mittens. They had a cozy love nest, but they longed for something more. That's when granny developed the notion that the two should become three or four or five! Unfortunately, Will's prostrate was prohibited, and Granny's uterus had long since fallen out,
so the two decided to adopt!
                                                They started with Lightning Bug......

Then added Greeney and Clyde.
Now, they're household is happy, satisfying and WARM,
thanks to those those giant mittens.

I wonder what Granny will knit next?

Hilga Von Gertenstein

Hilga, from the International doll cabinet, is trapped in a time capsule.

Suddenly from seemily nowhere, a great white Snafarrapapus charges, knocking over the capsule and freeing Hilga!

She confronts the insane beast, and it backs down.

Hilga makes her escape to a waterfal in a stand of woods just outside the wild beast's lair.

There, she travels alone for days on end,
enduring daunting hunger and extreme weather.

As her travels began to way her down, she seeks refuge in a near by Silverthatch tree. And that is where she meets Bluey Peacock....

Bluey takes her to the local pub, and indulges her with local weinerschnitzel!

With Hilga's appetite appeased, Bluey Peacock and she head onward to meet Bluey's Mother.

After  warm intoductions and happy reunions, Bluey's Mother, Mavis, suggests they go once again to the enchanted forest of the Silverthatches, to visit the remains of Bluey's Father,
Big Bluey Peacock balls.

Suddenly overcome by a great longing for her native land, Hilga must bid Bluey and his Father's  ancestral balls farewell....

Taking a momento from her new friend Bluey Peacock, back in her time caspsule she goes, promising to send dolls from Austria, Switzerland and even the Czech Republic!

Hilga Von Gertenstein would like to remind the viewers that she was brought to the cabinet @ 1968, from Germany, and is for sale. Bidding begins at $5.00. (email cra-z-rtist@charter.net for purchase).

Pinocchio

You all know the story of Pinocchio, right? Well, here's the rest of the story...
On level 2 in Granny's doll cabinet, sit the personality dolls.
You recognize their faces, right? The Flying Nun, Dorothy and the Witch, Mary Poppins, Annie, Shirley Temple, etc, and Pinocchio.

We all know Pinoch wanted to become a real boy, but as he was sitting in a comfy chair one day, contemplating the world, Pinoch realized becoming a real boy wasn't truly the end-all goal he originally had in mind.
You see, to become a real good boy, is truly boring...all the chicks want is a bad boy, right? So, Pinocchio joined a gang.

They were a torid group of ruffians! They taught Pinoch all the ins and outs of being a bad boy. He soon rose to the rank of Head Bad Boy, as he put the screws to the gang's leader, Toughie McCoy.

Word spread throughout the land that Pinocchio
had become the baddest boy around.
His reputation garnered a visit
from his idol, Peter Pan!
Here he is posing with Peter for the cover of
 Beat'em Up Magazine.

Pinocchio became a household name in this crazy tough boy's underworld. He was no longer satisfied to be a mamby-pamby bad boy, he wanted to become the ultimate...the king...the emperor of bad boys!!! So he packed his belongings, moved to the remote island of Nevercomeback, and there met his supreme idol,
Captain Hook.

Hook, so adored Pinoch's wickedness, he inherently took him under his wing. Pinocchio became Hook's first mate, right hand man, ally, best boy, his girl friday, friend's forever, blood brothers, better half, significant other, and verily invited him to his deer camp every hunting season.

And THEY  lived happily ever after
