Rubberband Monkeyman

Where's Rubberband Monkeyman? He is a stealth primate with 2 rubber bands joining his front limbs together, making him a rapid climber, runner and fighter. His specialty is hiding out, waiting to pounce on unsuspecting victims.

First, he collects his orders from Agent Orange..

And he's off!
See if you can spot this wiley gorilla on his cumbersome path to mission impossible.

He stops at home to visit with Dad..

Then back on the mission!

                                            Gotcha!

The Twinnies

The specialty dolls on Granny's couch are the the Twinnies, Gertie and Splenda.

Tied to physical/emotional bonds of  twin-dom, they've mirrored each others moves since childhood.

Gertie and Splenda so wowed all who came in contact with them, by their every movements acting as one, the two loving sisters finally decided to take up the exhilarating world of the CIRCUS!

(Remember their sister, Twinkie, the one who took off with a clown? She met him on her visit to the great Circus on Parade, featuring her little sisters, the Twinnies!)

Meanwhile, back at the Circus, see their stupendous death defying act on the high-wire!

Clowning with Jack, the clown....

Monkeying around with Sockey
and the circus animal parade!

Audiences gasp at their amazing, colossal tumbling balls performance!!

Gertie and Splenda, in their joyful youth, are so busy traveling around the globe in the exciting world of Circus, they have little time to worry about their physical future when arthritis, bulging disks, shingles, menopause, fibromyalgia, hair loss, hot flashes, weight gain and fatigue with overtake them.

Twinkie

Here begins the tale of Tiny Twinkie, the little starlet. She longed for a career on the stage, but first had to begin at the bottom, as an usher.

Twinkie moved up in rank fairly quickly as her ambition knew no bounds. She landed her first audition in a sizable theatre, wowing them with her knock down rendition of Second Hand Rose.

Tiny Twinkie got the part and lived the life of the theatrical gypsy: bus rides and hotel stays.

But how she longed for the day when her big break would come! After years of grueling toe tapping, ankle spraining, vocal straining, weight watching, costume fitting, and general exhaustion the life of a bus and truck performer endures,
(even tho they have great continental breakfasts at the Burnsville, MN  Hampton Inn),Twinkie got her comeuppance!
She was cast as the lead in Flower Drum Song!

Unfortunately, Twinkie is no longer in show business today, as far as we know. One fateful day on a per chance visit to her twin sisters who worked for the local circus...
(see here, the Twinnies on the highwire)
Tiny Twinkie met, fell in love, and ran away with BoBo, the slightly scary, and mostly untalented clown. We recently heard they've both joined a reputable circus travelling the continents as BoBo and his Tiny Twinkie: the Tap and Fiddle duo Extraordinaire!

Granny Goodknitter

Once upon a time, there was woman named Granny Goodknitter. Granny spent the days and nights knitting away no worries or frets. She knitted lovely persian rugs....

Beautiful afghans...

Yes, granny could be found anywhere knitting, like out in the woods on a hot summer day.

No time to waste on irritable bowel syndrome!

Granny Goodknitter even kept up her knitting pace the day the Little Bay Jesus was born in a stable. She is a remarkable woman!

And then...one fine day...whilst Granny was knitting away, she met Willermus Knobel and they fell in love. Granny is now knitting a little nest egg ......so the two can live happily ever after!

Humphrey

Little Humphrey, one of Granny's grandchildren, moved to Wisconsin! Originally from Illinois, he was ever so excited about his new adventure in a brand new state. He was so eager to explore the land and experience all Wisconsin had to offer!

Humphrey began by visiting local Native American Museums.

He visited small town cheese factory's.
Cheese curds became Humphrey's favorite food!

Humphrey so enjoyed all of Wisconsin's beautiful parks. He loved to commune with the animals in their natural habitat.

Soon Humphrey went out and bought himself a traditional log home,
filling it with rustic treasures he accumulated
 throughout his Wisconsin travels.

Summer's were spent fishing with buddies...

Winters were spent fishing with buddies...

Saturdays AND Sundays were spent with THE PACKERS!!!!

                                        And then...OH the beer factories!
Humphrey SO enjoyed miles and miles of micro brews all across the state!

Humphrey soon learned deer were not reserved for frolic and beauty in the parks...they were for WINTER MEALS!
Plus, he discovered, their dead carcasses made beautiful art throughout his home. Bear also made for wonderful sculpture and good eats!

And now little Humphrey is completely acclimated to his wonderful life in Wisconsin! He's got his deer, his fish, his tv, his beer, his cheese

                                        AND of course.....his beer belly!

Mr. Chan

Mr. Chan came to the Americas in the 1920's from China. War was ensuing, and after Mr. Chan's nose was cut off in a back alley brawl, he decided he should flee to the Americas to make a better life for his family. China and America were very different places back then. Seeking his fortune, Mr. Chan bid farewell to his homeland and travelled via cargo ship to the sunny shore of California!

His first job on State shore was at a makeshift Chinese restaurant in Amador County where China City was created due to the ever increasing Chinese population immigrating to our sunny shores.  Mr. Chan worked the evening shift, putting his best foot forward in order to save enough money to bring his wife and children over eventually.

During the day, Mr. Chan would mine in the local Mokelumne River, where he became VERY successful, hiding and hoarding his golden treasures from all who knew him.

Later, in the 1940's Mr. Chan had earned enough to open his  Chinese Laundry:
China Chan's Changed Clean and Crisp Laundry. Where he was once again VERY successful, became Los Angeles' premier laundry, and eventually moved his family into a nice, bungalow just south of Pacific Grove, CA.

His family, (who shied away from this press release,) realized they longed for the comforts of a more interesting city, so Mr. Chan sold his bungalow for the mark-up price of $75,000 ( which was a LOT of money in those days), and moved them to San Francisco. But Mr. Chan, became such a hit with the hoyie-toyties of Los Angeles, Hollywood, Palm Springs etc...he was able to travel around California rubbing elbows with the rich and famous. Here he is with the 3 Stooges on Pebble Beach playing a round.

Perhaps in the future, Mr. Chan will convince his family to head for the "lime light," and we will meet and greet them all in their new life in a new modern American world.

The Grandchildren

Perched on the top shelf of Granny's doll cabinet, sits the grandchildren. All 10 of them. Here they all posed so beautifully, after hours of threats, bribes, coercion, tears, fights, squeaky toys and  finally, ice cream, from the camera man.

It takes a whole village to keep up with these younguns, each child having his/her own personality, quirks and drives.....well....maybe not a whole village, but at least a sturdy metal couch.

We will see their sparkling personalities come out one by one, as we unfold the hidden talents and desires of each little wondrous creature. Although they came with suggested names to the doll cabinet, seeing how they represented Granny's wonderful grandchildren,  the names will be changed henceforth, to protect the innocent.

(disclaimer: the stories you are about to see may not in any way reflect the original grandchild's personality or life's goals. He/she could possibly be scarred for life if any original private secrets were revealed, not to mention rumors of distant relative's Mafia connections.)

Show Girl

A pretty girl is like a melody...that haunts you night and day....

Night and day....you are the one...

Oh the wondrous romance of by gone days. Meet Lilly, a showgirl. Still walking the runway, still wearing satin. Nothing will keep this haute lady from her rhinestones and feathers. Who says romance is dead and gone?

Lilly can match any beauty on stage and off.

And her golden pipes! Why, here she warms up in the shower before she's off to the glitter and glam.

Paparazzi is her favorite word!

Satin sheets, wine and chocolates...what more could a girl want?

Well, secretly, all that she has ever wanted is a strong man to hold her when she cries...poor Lilly. Maybe Tinsel town is more tinsel than a show girl's heart can take.

Don't worry Lilly, every story has a silver lining, and among the stars in Granny's doll cabinet, there has to be one who will shine for you....to be continued.
